It seems like every boot Viberg creates has its own legitimately distinctive calling card. You can call Division Road’s Shelby boot any time, at 1-800-PINK-ING. Actually call quick—it just went on pre-order like 1 minute ago, and surely won’t last long.
The mocha shell cordovan is stunning on its own, and the perforated cap toes are certainly not without class. But it’s the remarkable pinking sawtoothing its way around the quarter and backstay—and that toe cap—that makes this boot special. It never gets in the way or screams “HERE I AM!,” but it’s always there and wonderfully visible for anyone paying the least bit of attention.
Influenced by and named after Peaky Blinders’ head lovable bad guy Thomas Shelby, who served in WWI before needing to be the best dressed man in town to run his criminal empire, the boot also features Goodyear welted construction with an antiqued storm welt and midsole. Also: a Ridgeway sole that’s extremely versatile in all manner of conditions, and Viberg’s continually demanded 2030 last (for which Division Road has an excellent sizing guide). And pinking.
It’s very difficult for Viberg to make anything other than an extremely handsome boot, but the Shelby certainly steps things up in terms of dressiness, although without being something that you’d feel bad about beating around (and don’t forget, it’s cordovan). It’s also extremely limited and will move quick—if you’re into it, you should too. Pre-order it right here.
