So I’ll freely admit it: I’ve been trying, in fits and starts, to become a Chelsea Boot Guy—and for all the effort, it simply hasn’t taken throughout my shoe journey. Until now.
Benzein is one of the top Indonesian bootmakers, and considered by many to make one of the best value, just reallllly nicely put-together Chelseas on the market anywhere. So when we started discussing a collaboration, I decided to dive headfirst into Chelseadom with them.
This boot is the result.
And let me tell you—and I can assure you I’m not just saying this—I love them.
The Kujang last is an absolute winner, hugging the feet in all the right places and boasting a very appealing shape, especially for a Chelsea. The construction and finishing are beyond rock solid. They are just comfortable as all get out, from the first wear. The Horween reverse chamois in a really appealing, somewhat mysteriously dark red wine color is perfect—rugged Chelsea is where I’m at right now, and I’m way into it. I’m a convert. And I believe I’m a better boot person for it.
This will be a limited run, so Benzein will be making only 20 pairs of these boots in the rare wine reverse chamois.
