We took a little breather last week, but we’re back, people! Whether you’re trying to beat the heat or, um bring it (sorry), there’s a lot to check out in this edition of SNBOTW. We’ve got all manner of new releases from White’s Boots, Alden, Viberg, and more, plus a very special offer from Rancourt & Co. Read on!
Get caught up on our previous roundups here.
[Ed Note: while we never choose anything specifically because of them, some of these recommendations contain affiliate links—the price is the same for you, but Stitchdown gets a small commission if you make a purchase. It’s essential to keeping the site alive, so we really, really appreciate it.]
Division Road has worked with White’s Boots to create not one, not two, but three exclusive makeups, all featuring Horween waxed flesh (which is, essentially, Chromexcel…with wax), dubbed The 3-2-1 CXL Wax Pack. We’ve got one that sings a sweet song to the shoe-boot lover in us, a 55-last 300 Oxford in a two-tone mashup of black waxed flesh and natural CXL on a Vibram 2060 cavity wedge (a Stitchdown shoe-boot favorite)…
…a hefty lace-to-toe Logger boot, with cinnamon waxed flesh and natty CXL, and a commando half-sole, also on 55…
…and a tall, dark and handsome 55 last Semi-Dress in black waxed flesh. I predict at least one, if not all three of these makeups will make an appearance in the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome.
Oozing with detail, the “Carrabassett” is built on the Barrie last with a combination of Color 8 shell and regina grain calf, tonal eyelets and speedhooks, bark tan thread on the handsewn vamps, a 360 reverse welt, and commando soles. Absolutely beautiful in every way.
Withered Fig continues their love affair with Lactae Hevea soles, and this week they’re featuring them on a pair of Viberg slippers made in a luscious calf suede. Unstructured and made with a 360 flat welt, these things scream summer.
OSB + Seidel + Dr. Sole = one hell of a good-looking boot. This week’s releases are no exception to that equation. Using a carbon bark veg tan leather that they developed with the Milwaukee tannery, OSB has crafted a pair in their Field Boots…
…as well as the Trench Oxford. Shoe boots! Go get ‘em.
It’d take a seven-nation army just to hold these back. The “Battalion” is made on the Trubalance last with lovely chocolate brown suede, a 360 reverse welt, and commando soles.
Also from Alden Madison this week, the “Dade” is an extremely solid snuff suede Indy makeup made in collaboration with our good pal @stitchedsoles. Built on the Trubalance last with a 270 storm welt and neocork soles.
Oh, but WF isn’t the only shop going slipper crazy this week. These Venetians from Ealdwine are drop-dead gorgeous, too. Aberdeen last, 270 flat antique welt, and single oak leather soles.
Ealdwine’s also got a new unlined Dover blucher in loden suede for you. This pair is made on the Barrie last with a 360 split-reverse welt and single leather soles.
Also!: a trio of U-Tip shoes, all named “The Sanford.” All of these shoes are built on Alden’s Barrie last, and you have your choice of getting them in milkshake suede…
…or you can kick things up a notch and get a pair in Horween Color 8 shell.
An intriguing GMTO of sorts, Dr. Sole is getting these lovely suede chukkas with the uppers completed by Russell Moccasin, and then finishing them with the Dr. Sole outsole of your choice. Get your order in by DMing Dr. Sole quickly, as preorders close tomorrow, June 12!
Nicks newest model features a very appealing single-piece heel counter/backstay, a dogger heel, an unstructured toe, and is built on the Spokane stalwart’s 11607 last. One of the best looking Nicks we’ve ever seen.
Rancourt has found a great deal of success with their crowdfunding approach, and they’re taking a victory lap by offering a wide variety of their models at fantastic prices, including the Traveler Ranger-moc pictured above. This campaign is running for another ten days or so, go check it out.
