I’m excited to say we’re bracing for a snowy winter here on the east coast. Even the boots are putting on an undercoat. If you want to buckle up instead of just buckling down, read on—we’ve got a new (old) collab from Division Road and White’s, a denim sneaker from Heddels, Yuketen’s Fall/Winter sample sale, and more…

Division Road x White's Cutter 350 in Brown Chromexcel

Division Road x White’s Cutter 350 in Brown Chromexcel: $835

Division Road just dropped two White’s collaborations that are big, bad, and just the right amount of bulbous. Both are lace-to-toe Cutters on sand 2060 wedge soles from Vibram—with a matching natural welt on the double-row, handsewn stitchdown. There’s a brown Chromexcel version…

Division Road x White's Cutter 350 in Cinnamon Waxed Flesh

Division Road x White’s Cutter 350 in Cinnamon Waxed Flesh: $835

…and one in Cinnamon Waxed flesh.

Division Road x White's Logger 350 in Black Chromexcel

Division Road x White’s Logger 350 in Black Chromexcel: $835

Released a few weeks ago new, but still worth a shoutout: The black CXL logger was one of Division Road’s first White’s collabs, and they’ve hung on to the model ever since. With a cap-toe, commando half-soles, and hand-rolled stitchdown construction, it pushes the base White’s Cruiser just a little bit further, without throwing off a boot that is already very dialed in. In addition to restocking the original version…

Division Road x White's Logger 350 in Brown Chromexcel

Divison Road x White’s Logger 350 in Brown Chromexcel: $835

…they’ve also added a new makeup in brown CXL that trades the dark brown edge-finish out for contrasting natural. Both boots use the 55 last, and an all eyelet hardware setup.

Grant Stone Plain Toe in Tan Pioneer

Grant Stone Plain Toe in Tan Pioneer: $435 (Pre-order)

These might just be the wintriest possible shoe—they’re literally clicked from Horween’s Pioneer Reindeer, and while they’re calling this stuff “tan,” it looks awful burgundy in the pictures. Maybe they’re just jolly shoes. Either way, they’re constructed with a 360˚ split-reverse welt on leather soles.

Grant Stone Cap-Toe Boot in Tan Pioneer Reindeer

Grant Stone Cap-Toe Boot in Tan Pioneer Reindeer: $435 (Pre-Order)

Aaaaand there’s also a boot version, because these people are meticulous. Which is to say a cap-toe boot version on the Leo last, with brass hardware, the same 360˚ split-reverse welt, and micro-stud outsoles.

Viberg Service Boot in 2045 Mushroom Chamois

Viberg Service Boot in 2045 Mushroom Chamois: $1,040

Viberg’s latest limited release is a Chamois service boot on the EE 2045—think a beefed up, wider 2040 with a sprung toe, but not quite in full on 310 territory. This is meat and potatoes stuff for Viberg: clean and super dense double row stitchdown, an interesting but tough upper leather, and Dainite soles.

John Lofgren Engineer Boots in Black Horsebutt

John Lofgren Engineer Boots in Black Horsebutt: $1,295

Lofgren’s latest drop is making the rounds at their primary retailers, so East West Apparel has a new engineer in black horsebutt from Japan’s famed Shinki Hikaku tannery. Constructed with a 270˚ flat and Vibram half-soles, these inarguably belong in the engineer cannon.

Yuketen Sample #23 in Brown

Yuketen Sample #23 in Brown: $500

Yuketen is running their fall winter sample sale right now, so if you happen to be in the neighborhood of a 9E—the size they run their samples in—it’s a pretty good time to pick up a one off makeup for a little cheaper than they would otherwise be, including some gloriously weird models. Sample #24 is a Maine Guide Boot with a trio of straps in place of the usual laces. They’re built with a moccasin construction, pinked top, and a Vibram Christy wedge sole.

Yuketen Land Max 2T in Black

Yuketen Land Max 2T in Black: $1,000

Sample #43, on the other hand, is a “Land Max” makeup, Yuki’s riff on a certain famous sneaker. Goodyear welted, but with an unusual, double-stitched welt. The uppers are hand-lasted, and they’re built on an appropriately sneaker-like 2021 wedge. According to retailers, these run big, and given that Yuketen runs their samples at a size 9, we’d venture a guess that these might fit more like a 9E than an 8.5E. Take that with a grain of salt. There are a bunch more pairs here.

Oak Street Bootmakers Jungle Duffle Camp Boot in Brown Chromexcel

Oak Street Bootmakers Jungle Duffle Camp Boot in Brown Chromexcel: $333 on Sale

If you’re in the (very specific) market for a jungle boot, with canvas from military surplus duffle bags, Oak Street Bootmakers has you covered. And if you aren’t, well we’d imagine the canvas quarters and moccasin footbed make for a pretty comfortable combination. Built with a handsewn moccasin construction on Vibram Montagna lug soles.

Oak Street Bootmakers Mill Boot in Tobacco Roughout

Oak Street Bootmakers Mill Boot in Tobacco Roughout: $278

Oak Street is still offering up to 30% off for Black Friday, and that extends to their new Mill model, a short-shafted, cap-toe service boot available in a range of leathers from Seidel, including Tobacco Roughout…

Oak Street Bootmakers Mill Boot in Trail Crazy Horse

Oak Street Bootmakers Mill Boot in Trail Crazy Horse: $278

…and Trail Crazy Horse. They’re built with a 270˚ flat welt on Vibram 430 mini-lug outsoles. Other leather options here.

Crockett & Jones Coniston in Cheastnut Russain Grain

Crockett & Jones Coniston in Cheastnut Russain Grain: $1,250 (Preorder)

Crockett & Jones released a small collection for the 30th anniversary of the 325 last—a good illustration of both how old the company itself is (4.83 times older than the last) and how much evolution happens even at the stalwart “heritage” workshops. That collection includes a Coniston model in some incredibly nice (and also very old) Russian Calf from J&FJ Bakers. They’re built on a Vibram unit lug outsole, with A 360˚ storm welt.

Crown Northampton x Heddels Grand Union Wholecut in Dyneema Denim

Crown Northampton x Heddels Grand Union Wholecut in Dyneema Denim: $440 (Made to Order)

If anyone is going to make denim sneaker, well, Heddels certainly has the expertise. The denim of choice? A 14oz Italian selvedge that 30% Dyneema—which mostly means very, very abrasion resistant. There’s leather at the eyelets and backstay, which one the white version should result in heavy crocking with time. As for the construction, they lining is vegetable tanned calf, with a veg-tan insole and Lactae Hevea cup sole under foot.

Alden x Brogue Daido Service Boot in Black Calf

Alden x Brogue Daido Service Boot in Black Calf: $745

Brogue has been busy opening up a Las Vegas location and relocating their Shenzhen store, but not too busy for a new Alden collab. The Daido uses the 379x military last and double leather outsoles, attached to black calf uppers by a 270˚ flat welt.

Alden Newport Indy in Humus Brown Suede

Brick + Mortar x Alden “Newport” Indy in Humus Brown Suede: $750

This time of year there has to be at least one suede boot in the roundup, bonus points if its Alden. Luckily, Brick & Mortar has us covered, with their “Newport” Indy makeup, built on the Trubalance last, using commando half soles and a 360˚ split reverse welt.

Moulded Shoe x Alden DH1809 in Tobacco Reverse Chamois

Moulded Shoe x Alden DH1809 in Tobacco Reverse Chamois: $715

And in the interest of racking up our multipliers, check out these plain toes from Moulded Shoe. Clicked from Reverse Chamois, that bit of extra roundness from the Modified last and the chunky sole makes these feel very wintery to us, but maybe that’s just the anticipation talking. But with a 270˚ storm welt and lug soles. One of the rugged-er Modified last boots you’ll ever see.
