This week we’ve a new collab from White’s and Freenote on the elusive Swing last, experimental attractions engineers at Standard & Strange, and what might just be Oldspeed’s best GMTO yet. All that and more below.
The archive of previous roundups is available here.
Division Road x White’s Boots Semi-Dress 350 in Horween British Tan CXL: $835
Few collaborators have played around as effectively with White’s iconic Semi-Dress boot as Division Road—and they just rolled out two more from the lab. Slightly taller than stock + block heel is the formula here. And it adds up. Vibram 430 full soles and Horween’s slept-on British Tan CXL grace this model…
Division Road x White’s Boots Semi-Dress 350 in Horween Black CXL: $835
While classic black CXL gets the same specs along with a contrast natural CXL gusset.
Freenote Cloth x White’s Boots Cutter in Burgundy Double Shot: $796
Freenote may be best known for their denim and ultra-heavy flannel game—but their boot collaborations are consistently very legit. This time they teamed up with White’s on a burgundy Double Shot LTT. The most interesting thing about this release is probably the 9338 Swing last, which is basically a cross between White’s iconic 55 and a Munson last—wider toe than the former, more arch the latter. The bulkier toe plays nicely with the hardware forward lace-to-toe pattern, and they’re constructed with machine-sewn stitchdown on a Vibram 430 mini-lug, keeping things slightly more affordable than a rolled-welt version might have been.
Classic Works x Viberg Roper in Washed Brown Waxed Flesh: $1,213 (Pre-Order)
Taiwanese retailer Classic Works has a six-deep lineup of exclusive Viberg makeups available for pre-order through September 14th. That includes a roper with a 270˚ flat welt and leather outsole…
Classic Works x Viberg Service Boot 310 in Washed Brown Waxed Flesh: $1,088 (Pre-Order)
…as well as a stitchdown 310-last Service Boot on Dr. Sole half-soles, 2030 and 2040 service boots, a Chelsea, and a hiker. All the models use washed Horween’s waxed flesh, and the effect is a lighter, nappier leather, like broken in waxed flesh without the uneven wear. To order, you’ll need to message Classic Works.
Attractions Lot. 444 Engineer Boot in Black Avancorpo: $1,300
Some of Attractions wildest engineers yet. The midsoles are clicked from some incredibly thick buffalo, which according to Standard & Strange is nonetheless lightweight and flexible. As for the uppers, they’re vegetable tanned front quarter bullhide and the photographed pair has deep, consistent grain across every panel of the boots. Underfoot, there’s a 270˚ flat welt atop a Biltbuck half sole, all put together on Attractions A010 last.
Attractions Lot. 329 Engineer Boots in Sand Beige Nubuck: $1,000
There’s also a slightly more typical pair of nubuck engineers on the A08 last, with the same flat welt and Biltbuck outsoles.
Attractions Romeo Shoes in Black Kip: $800
Standard & Strange is also carrying Attractions’ Romeo. Their take on the pattern has a steeply angled cutout for the goring, which sweeps back to meet the heel. The dressy upper leather, leather outsole, and 360˚ flat welt also put them on the formal edge of the genre.
Grant Stone Traveler Penny in Autumn Ridge Glacé Latigo: $412 (Pre-order)
Grant Stone’s just opened the pre-order for a duo of limited release shoes in Horween’s Glacé (glazed) Latigo, a combination tanned leather with an embossed grain pattern and loads of lustre. The two models are a Traveler Penny with an oil-dipped leather outsole and 360˚ flat welt…
Grant Stone Country Derby in Autumn Ridge Glacé Latigo: $412 (Pre-order)
…and the Country Derby, with the same 360˚ flat welt and leather outsoles. Expected to ship in four to five months.
Oldspeed MFG Service Boot in Brown CXL Horse Strip: $750 (Made to Order)
For a relatively young manufacturer, Oldspeed has developed quickly, now offering mens sizes 5-15 alongside a smaller handful of women’s sizes and wide widths. The precision of their double row stitchdown has improved from its already impressive baseline, and their latest GMTO was introduced alongside a new last, the 1942, with a sleeker toe than their previous offerings. Built on Vibram’s 430 mini-lug outsole.

Moulded Shoe x Alden #N0805H Plane Toe Boot in Color 8 Shell: $965
The name is as functional as the modified last they’re built on, but evidently form isn’t compromised by following function. Constructed with nitrile-cork outsoles, a 270˚ storm welt, and matching hardware.
Alden Leisure Penny Loafer in Tan Michigan Calf: $676
Alden’s calfskin loafers tend to take a back seat to soft suede or shiny shell, but Alden Madison is currently running pre-order for pair of Leisure loafers that might win back our allegiance. Suffice it to say that we look at a dizzying amount of brown leather in the course of a given year, and something about the shade of this Tan Michigan Calf really does it for us. Built on the Van last, with a 360˚ flat welt and oiled leather outsoles.
Sanders Fraser Gibson in Dark Brown Waxy Suede: $377
Sanders & Sanders continues to maintain a low profile relative to other old Northampton makers, with an old but functional website, straightforward photography, and slightly lower prices to match. Fortunate, considering they’re solidly built shoes on equally good lasts—and that extends to the new Fraser, fitted out with a 360˚ split-welt and Vi-lite lug soles.
Rancourt Pinch Penny in Dark Olive Pull-Up: $328
Rancourt just released their Fall/Winter 25 collection, a small group of the brands core models in new leathers. The Pinch Penny loafer got a version in dark olive pull up…
Rancourt Belgrade in Cognac Bison: $318
…and the Belgrade got a Bison version on a natural rubber lug sole from Reltex. You can check out the whole collection here.
