Viberg Service Boot 2030 BCT in Dark Cognac Shell

Viberg Service Boot 2030 BCT in Dark Cognac Shell Cordovan: $2,155 (Pre-order)

This week’s Viberg shell pre-order follows the formula of the last few: dressy brogued cap toe, 2030 last, blind eyelets, Dainite outsoles, and of course double row stitchdown. But the Dark Cognac shell cordovan is arguably one of Horween’s best colors, and because it’s a pre-order there are a wider range of widths (D-EE) and sizes (6-13).

Rolling Dub Trio Skirk in Black Chrome

Rolling Dub Trio Skirk in Black Chrome: $580

Masuya, based in Japan’s Yamagata City, is home to a impressively wide array of all things leather, denim, and workwear. They’re also one of the first retailers to get Rolling Dub Trio’s new “Skirk” roper boot model, and coincidentally are quite happy to ship internationally. The model itself is borrows its name from the original Norwegian title of the paining The Scream—inspired by the “wide, open mouth” of the roper pattern. The uppers are clicked from heavy, chrome-tanned French kip in Black…

Rolling Dub Trio Skirk in Brown Chrome

…or Brown…

Rolling Dub Trio Skirk in Black:Green Teacore

Rolling Dub Trio Skirk in Black/Green Teacore: $526

…while RDT’s The Boots Shop is carrying a version in black-over-green teacore steerhide. All three versions share the round toed A-series last used on the Coupen and Casper, as well as a 360˚ flat welt and a nitrile cork outsole with leather inserts and toe taps.

Iron Boots Pitman in Black Pioneer Reindeer

Iron Boots Pitman in Black Pioneer Reindeer: $975 (Made to Order)

Iron Boots have gotten their hands on some hatch grain Pioneer from Horween—but only enough for 10 pairs. They’re offering them via a GMTO on the Pitman last, which has a wide, upturned toe and significant arch support. Like the uppers, the hardware, midsole and outsole are totally black, with the only contrast coming from the white thread used on the double-row stitchdown construction. Despite the imposing last, Iron Boots footwear tends to be softer than most welted boots, in part because they use felt filler under the insole rather than stiffer cork.

Oldspeed Mfg. Airstrip Shoe in Dark Brown Double Shot

OldSpeed Mfg. Airstrip Shoe in Seidel Dark Brown Double Shot: $812 (Made to Order)

Two months after the “Surface Sailor” makeup, OldSpeed is offering a brown version of their take on the USN derby, executed with a stitchdown construction and Vibram 269 outsoles.

Blue Owl x Guidi Hiking Boot in Dark Brown Reverse Calf

Blue Owl x Guidi 19M Hiking Boot in Dark Brown Reverse Calf: $1,295

Having both the Alps and an old and prominent tanning industry makes it deeply unsurprising that Italy is known for its hiking boots, but from Guidi—one of Italy’s best known tanneries and boot companies—those hiking models can be hard to find. But their recent collab with Blue Owl includes a Norwegian-welted hiker with a padded collar in brown roughout calf.

Blue Owl x Guidi 992 Classic Derby in Dark Brown Reverse Horse Leather

Blue Owl x Guidi 992 Classic Derby in Dark Brown Reverse Horse Leather: $995

As well as a derby in similarly hued horsehide. Like most of Guidi’s boots, both models are object dyed, which means the whole shoe is assembled and then dyed in a giant drum. They also ship with rubber sole topys and heel guards that can be attached by a cobbler. Both models—and a few other collab boots—release Friday at 10am.

Universal Works x Paraboot Theirs in Cafe Leather:Suede

Universal Works x Paraboot Theirs in Cafe Leather/Suede: $429

Universal Works’ most recent collab with Paraboot runs both ways: two pairs of shoes on the Paraboot side, and clothing (including pants) on the Universal Works side. The shoes replace the usual padded collar of the Theirs with a cut top, with a two-tone upper that highlights the swooping shape of the pattering around the quarters. They’re Blake-stitched, with rubber lug soles and uppers in either brown…

Universal Works x Paraboot Theirs in Sand Leather:Suede

Universal Works x Paraboot Theirs in Sand Leather/Suede: $429

…or natural. Both are embossed with “La Beauté Dans L’Imperfection” (the beauty in imperfection) at the heel.

Bal x Regal Gore-Tex Tyrolean in Black Nubuk

Bal x Regal Gore-Tex Tyrolean in Black Nubuk: $375

With only the slightest bit of irony, Regal’s gore-tex lined Tyrolean brings the pattern back to its utilitarian roots. Bal Original has outfitted it in black nubuck on lightweight New Flex soles from Vibram, held together with a 360˚ storm welt. Oh yeah, and there’s a backup pair of reflective laces for good measure.
