A plethora of shoes ‘n’ boots to cover this week—winter-ready slippers from Rancourt & Co.; a limited return of the Viberg Roper; some handsome Hiro Yanagimachi exclusives at Leffot; and much, much more.
Many more shoes ‘n’ boots can be found here.

Not to toot our own horn—okay, yes, fine, we’re tooting our own horn—but the latest White’s x Stitchdown collab is looking reeeeeeeal good. Ben took the White’s Cutter pattern and extended it to a slightly higher seven-inch height, and decked it out in the much-underrated Seidel Brown Dress leather, which will show a significant teacore effect as it ages. The whole package is built on the classic 55 last, with unstructured toes, lineman patches, handsewn stitchdown construction, Vibram V-bar half soles, and Quabaug heels. (Stitchdown Premium members get a discount, too!)
When it comes to Viberg, dead patterns never truly stay dead, it seems. The Roper is back!…for a limited release, at least. These 2005-lasted pull-on boots are made in Maryam Toscanello Waxed Deer Roughout, and feature a 360 notched storm welt along with Vibram Morflex wedge soles. Just a few sizes remain!
These fantastic web-exclusive cap-toed Halketts are available in this season’s Viking Calf from revived US tannery Gallun, one of our favorite stories of the year. Built on the svelte 2020 last, these tall, classy derby boots feature a 270 flat welt and Ridgeway soles.
This beige-tinted suede leather is being discontinued at Alden, and Alden Madison was fortunate enough to get some of it for these classic LHS loafers. Crafted on the Van last, these unlined loafers feature a 360 flat welt and single leather soles.
There’s lots afoot at Standard & Strange this week, starting off with their massive roster of Rolling Dub Trio pre-orders, including these terrific Roots Lows in a teacore black horsebutt. Check out our coverage of all fifteen(!) RDT models S&S is offering here. Don’t wait around, by the way—pre-orders end today, Friday the 11th, at midnight Pacific time.
Not long after the RDT pre-orders were unveiled, S&S announced another big pre-order event: a whole bunch of new models from John Lofgren. S&S informs us that most of these models will not be stocked—only available for pre-order—so be sure to secure the pair of your choice before these pre-orders wrap up on Monday 11/14 at noon Pacific.
Lots of JL to cover here, but we’ll hit on some of our favorites, starting off with this new pattern for the brand: the Steel Gang, which appears to be heavily influenced by old-school forestry boots (especially with that prominent logger heel). Built on the 120 last, the Steel Gang is made with a double-row 270 flat welt construction, along with the Vibram 430 mini-lug half sole and matching heel. It’s available in two kinds of horsebutt leather from Japan’s vaunted Shinki Hikaku tannery: Camel…
…and Dark Brown.
That Dark Brown Shinki Horsebutt also graces John Lofgren’s signature Wabash engineer boot. Crafted on the 110 last, this 12.5” engineer has a 270 flat welt and Vibram V-bar half soles and heels.
The Steadfast Chukka is also made on the 110 last, and is built with a 360 flat welt and low-profile rubber half soles from Vibram. You can get this pair in Shinki shell cordovan, either in a cognac color…
…or this eye-catching olive.
These highly coveted boondocker-inspired boots dropped at S&S last week along with the Clinch Gary monkey boots…and to our surprise, they’re both still in stock. Get at ‘em!
These LaRossa/Shop Louie Indys are made on the Trubalance last with navy suede, and feature a 360 pre-stitch reverse welt along with Alden wedge soles.
White’s serves up a unique padded-collar lace-to-toe boot (a riff on their Hiker) for Taylor Stitch. Built on the 610 last in whiskey-colored British Tan Double Shot from Seidel, this rugged pair features a 360 single-row stitchdown construction with heavy-duty Vibram lug soles.
Another makeup made in celebration of Leffot’s 15th anniversary, these Hiro Yanagimachi sneakers are decked out in luxurious Horween Color 8 Shell Cordovan. They’re made with the same attention to detail as their elegant dress shoes; plus, they’re handwelted, and rebuildable. Only fifteen pairs are available to pre-order of this exclusive makeup.
Leffot also has a couple of the LS1 models in stock: one in reddish Firebrick Suede…
…and another in a slate Grey Kudu.
Leffot has a quartet of Alden exclusives as well. First up, a Barrie-lasted saddle shoe that cleverly incorporates both smooth and roughout tobacco chamois leather. Made with a 360 flat welt, plus commando soles.
Built on the Barrie last, these chukkas are made with a 360 pre-stitch reverse welt and crepe soles. Love the brass eyelets on the snuff suede here.
Leffot has just received shipment of their signature antique-edged LWB in Color 8 Shell Cordovan. Barrie last, blind eyelets, 360 pre-stitch reverse welt, double leather soles, very handsome.
With an anticipated summer 2023 delivery, these LWBs are made on the Barrie last with a 360 pre-stitch reverse welt and single leather soles. Pre-order closes 11/13!
Just a few sizes remain in Rancourt’s comfy Freeman Slippers in Chicago Tan CXL. Perfect for the winter ahead, they feature a double-vamp bottom and lambswool shearling lining.
Another made-in-Maine slipper option courtesy of Easymoc, these Huckberry exclusives are made in a brown pull-up cowhide with shearling lining, and feature Vibram camp soles.
Built on the Barrie last, these Ealdwine-exclusive boots are made in reverse tobacco chamois with a 270 storm welt and commando soles.
Another fresh arrival at Ealdwine is the “Fremont,” a brogued-out blucher in Horween Color 8 Shell Cordovan. Crafted on the Barrie last, it features a 270 flat welt and double Waterloc soles.
