July is starting to look suspiciously like August, but the boots are still coming in strong. We’ve got two new Wesco engineers (alongside a ton of other releases) at Standard & Strange, a new Maryam horsebutt variant developed for Sagara, a pile of new Yuketen makeups, and—rest assured—plenty more below…

Standard & Strange x Wesco Quick Striker Engineer in Olive Waxed Flesh: $920
We’ve got an absolutely huge release from Standard & Strange this week, but we only have room to scratch the surface. They’ve re-released two of their previous Wesco collaborations, including the Quick Striker, and MP Toe Engineer that’s been updated with narrower shaft for this release. The uppers are clicked from Olive waxed flesh and secured with to the Vibram 700 half-soles with two rows of stitchdown.
Standard & Strange x Wesco Van Cleef III Engineer in Natural Essex: $885
They’ve also resurected one of the very first makeups they ran with Wesco all the way back in 2016: the Van Cleef. This time it’s back in Horween’s Essex, a super soft and flexible veg-tan that should make for a pretty friendly fit. Unlike the Quick Striker, we’ve got Vibram 700 full soles, attached with double row stitchdown. The Van Cleef also has an unstructured toe, which combined with the natural uppers just screams “dome boot”. But hey, maybe we’re biased.
John Lofgren Wabash Engineer Boots in Burnt Burgundy Ezo Deerskin: $1,450
On top of the Wesco release, we’ve got what might just be Lofgren’s most interesting leather back in stock on the Wabash engineer. The outer layer of deerskin is waxed and burnished to create the shiny, almost crinkly texture of the uppers, and which hides a second layer of deerskin—this time oil tanned—that provides structure to the uppers. Underfoot are Vibram 705 half soles and a 270˚ storm welt.
And Standard & Strange is still going: they dropped Rolling Dub Trio’s Casper side-zip in Black and Brown, both of which are almost sold out already, some veg-tan Docs, and a bunch of other footwear you can check out here.
Grant Stone Ottawa Boot in Color #8 Chromexcel: $435 (Pre-Order)
The reign of Chromexcel is far from over (not that anyone was really speculating) and Grant Stone has two pre-orders in Color 8 opening up this Monday—July 27th, for anyone that’s been lost at sea or happens to be a boot archeologist in the distant future. The first is a split-toe, with a 360˚ split-reverse welt and a micro-stud outsole…
Grant Stone Longwing in Color #8 Chromexcel: $435 (Pre-Order)
…while the second is a Longwing, a pattern that regardless of the tannage itself just seems to belong in this color for some reason? I guess if you’re going all out on the patterning there’s no reason to be content with brown or black. In any case, we’ve got another 360˚ split-reverse welt, this time on a leather sole with black edge dye.
Attractions Lot.269SP in Brown Steerhide: $1,050
Good news for all of our European and somewhat-recently-European readers: the Lot. 269 SP that Attractions released this month seems to have found another stockist, London’s Clutch Cafe. We covered them in a bit more detail last week, and these are exactly the same, with 270˚ flat welts, some pretty heavily finished (but in a cool way) combination-tanned steerhide uppers, and Biltbuck half soles.
Sagara x Maryam M43 in Natural Vachetta Oil Horsebutt: $717 (Pre-Order)
Maryam developed a custom leather for Sagara and they’re currently running it on a 6″, boondocker-style service boot. The concept is straightforward: Maryam’s natural horsebutt, which is a very much not Sagara exclusive leather that’s in widespread use, but heavily oiled to add flexibility and give you a little patina-boost. The makeup uses a hand-welted construction and Dr. Sole’s Raw Cord full soles.
Mr. Porter x Yuketen Leather-Trimmed Suede Boots in Brown: $835
Yuketen got few different releases this week, including these Mr. Porter-exclusive moc toes in very, very dark brown suede, with a little bit of grain-out trim on the padded collar. The uppers are decorated with hex eyelets and by the 360˚ pinked welts, which sit atop Vibram Morflex outsoles.

Carrying on with the hex eyelet theme, Haven also dropped a handfull of Yuketen makeups. There’s a hex eye boat shoe, with Vibram Cortina soles and brown uppers in Conciera Opera’s Colima tannage….
Yuketen Weaved Blucher in Black Nappa: $732
…and a somewhat remarkable Blucher in woven Nappa with a pinked collar.
Truman Cap Toe in Sesame Double Shot: $460
Finally—and maybe we’re projecting here—Truman seems to have noticed that the Thunderdome is coming up in a few months here, and released an extremely appropriate cap toe in Seidel’s Double Shot, built out with a 270˚ storm welt and Ridgeway outsoles.
