We’ve got an absolutely jam-packed release roundup for you this week (to be clear, it’s packed with boots, not jam), including John Lofgren going a little western, a Father’s Day sale from White’s that’ll make you say “thanks dad” even if you’re shopping for yourself, our latest team-up with Alden Madison, and plenty more.

Shoes ‘n’ boots from weeks gone by can be found here.

JLB Duke Roper - Roughout Natural Chromexcel

John Lofgren Duke in Roughout Natural CXL: $1100 (Pre-order)

Despite their distinct prominence in the world of pull on boots (thanks to the Wabash Engineer), it’s not every day you see a roper release from John Lofgren. In fact, according to our best sleuthing, the Duke, named for a certain eponymous Wellington of boot (and beef!) fame, hasn’t been available anywhere since last summer. This week’s version is being offered in rough-out natural Chromexcel, with the standard combination of a 270-degree Goodyear welt and low block heel, with everything, as always, made in Japan.

JLB M43 - Shinki Black Horsebutt

John Lofgren M43 in Black Shinki Horsebutt: $1125 (Pre-order)

A full slate of Lofgren pre-orders are available alongside the Duke, and available both at John Lofgren’s own site and through Standard & Strange (who are offering 20% store credit on all orders at the moment). These’s M43’s are another highlight for us, dressing up the classic repro combo of a corded sole and Goodyear storm welt with black eyelets and a high-texture horsebutt upper from Shinki. Every hide will be different but we’ve seen these ship with some deliciously patterning in the grain.

[Note: Apparently Lofgren is updating the scaling of their lasts with this release. The lasts themselves are unchanged, but labeled size in increasing by a half size, so if you previously ordered a size 9, you’ll want a size 9.5 for an identical fit.]

Grant Stone - Traveller Penny Loafer - Burgundy CXL

Grant Stone Traveler Penny Loafer in Color No. 8 CXL: $348

Hot on the heels of Josh’s loafer opus, Grant Stone released their Traveler penny in a new leather: fully-lined Horween Color No. 8 Chromexcel. Leather sole=peak comfort.

Division Road x White's - LTT Oxford 200 - Burgundy CXL

Division Road x White’s LTT Oxford 300: $Price (RTW or MTO)

If a lace-to-toe White’s 300 Oxford on a 2060 wedge isn’t a boot-shoe, we don’t know what is. This burgundy CXL DR collaboration features a single row handsewn stitchdown construction on the 55 last, done up right down to the lineman patch and unstructured toe, which really chills out over time in a very appealing manner.

Division Road x Crockett & Jones - Sandhurst - Black Roughout

Division Road x Crockett & Jones Sandhurst in Black Roughout: $645

DR has put their own spin on the cap-toed derby pattern inspired by officer’s dress shoes, with the addition of a lugged Vibram Carrarmato sole. Always the epitome of restraint, I’ve resisted the powerful urge to describe the almond-toed last and lug sole combo as “business up front, party in the back” and will instead be sticking to Division Road’s descriptor: “Covert Luxury”. The Sandhurst comes on a storm welt, in a waxed roughout calf from C.F. Stead that’s available in black…

Division Road x Crockett & Jones - Sandhurst - Dark Brown Waxed Suede Roughout

Division Road x Crockett & Jones Sandhurst in Dark Brown Roughout: $645

…and dark brown.

Russell Moccasin Sporting Clays Chukka

Russell Moccasin Sporting Clays Chukka in Nutmeg Waxy Oil Tan: $635

A Russell classic beloved by competitive sporting clays shooters and Japanese men who dig the style of competitive sporting clays shooters, we’re quite tickled to see these chonk-kas back for a ready-to-wear release. The single vamp/moulded sole combo—that double bottom you see creeping up out from the Vibram 2060 cavity wedge sole—provides a timeless Russell look while also offering substantial support. Fun boot!

XBXS Bootmaker - 8" Laceup Boot - Horsebutt TPR Black

XBXS Bootmaker 8″ Lace Up Boot in Black Overdyed Maryam Horsebutt: $1100 (MTO)

Essentially a Hi-Liner pattern that’s less…high, these fellas from Dongguan, China-based XBXS come on the sleek and angular 008 last, and sport a hand-welted construction, green Dr. Sole full soles, and tonal edge dye and polish. They’re available in Maryam TPR horsebutt over-dyed black…

XBXS Bootmaker 8″ Lace Up Boot in Brown Overdyed Maryam Horsebutt: $1200 (MTO)

…or dark brown. I have a sneaking suspicion these wont be the last thing to emerge from the XBXS skunkworks this year.
