Happy almost-Halloween! While we aren’t the house in the neighborhood with the full-size Snicker’s bars, we do have a tight lineup of very nice releases—especially of the kudu variety. Come on in to our vaguely haunted house as we explore the latest offerings from Grant Stone, Alden, Viberg, and more.

Catch up on the rest of our roundups here.

[Ed Note: while we never choose anything specifically because of them, some of these recommendations contain affiliate links—the price is the same for you, but Stitchdown gets a small commission if you make a purchase. It’s essential to keeping the site alive, so we really, really appreciate it.]

viberg service boot marraca shrunken kudu

Viberg Service Boot in Marraca Shrunken Kudu: $710

Honey, I shrunk the kudu. This recent weekly drop from Viberg is built on the 1035 last with Dainite soles. This Marraca shrunken kudu is some wild-looking stuff.

alden madison field boot

Alden Madison “Field Boot”: ~$625 (Crowdfunded)

This straight tip boot is done up in some superb snuff suede on the Barrie last with a 360 reverse welt and double leather soles. Love the Indy quarter stitch too.

Grant Stone Country Derby in Storm Kudu: $340 (Pre-Order)

Two flavors now available for pre-order from Grant Stone in this moody storm kudu from C.F. Stead. First, these country derbies are built on the Leo last with a 360 storm welt and thick leather soles.

grant stone chukka storm kudu

Grant Stone Chukka in Storm Kudu: $340 (Pre-Order)

Built with similar specs to the country derby (Leo last, storm welt, leather soles), these are a great choice if you’re looking for something with a slightly higher collar.

lof tung bridger chestnut kudu

Löf & Tung Bridger in Chestnut Kudu: $380

This split-toe boot from the brand created by Swedish supershoestore Skoaktiebolaget is equal parts flashy and rugged. Built on Löf & Tung’s S last with a 270 flat welt and Dainite soles.

quoddy camp boot

Quoddy Limited Edition Camp Boot: $325

A nice lightweight boot option with a bit of comfort thanks to the air-injected Vibram Aircalla soles, these camp boots are available in both brown and whiskey.

Red Wing Gore-Tex Classic Moc Toe: $360

An icon, updated. Red wing took their most classic pattern of them all and reworked it to absorb a Gore-Tex bootie sitting underneath a Russet Taos water-resistant leather upper. Just note that 1) these feature a Poron/Texon insole instead of the standard leather footbed, and 2) they’re sold out basically everywhere online so far. BUT, some select shops should still have them in-store, including Todd Snyder, the Red Wing Store in Tribeca NYC, and a few others you can find through here.

clinch x black sign transcontinental

Last Crack at the Black Sign x Clinch Transcontinental Boot Pre-Order: $1950

As famously said by the great Roy Scheider in Jaws, “you’re gonna need a bigger boot.” Well here it is, from Japanese tag-team Clinch and Black Sign, and newly New York City-ified Standard & Strange. Pre-order ends tonight, 10/29, if you dare.
